Andrea Vega Troncoso
MSW Intern
Andrea Vega Troncoso (they/them) is a clinical social work graduate trainee pursuing an MSW at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Prior to pursuing training in psychotherapy, they spent a decade working in nonprofits, primarily in feminist advocacy and coalition coordination.
Andrea currently works with adults, couples, and adolescents at Rose Hill. They have experience working with people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive thoughts and behaviors, grief, relationship concerns, and major life transitions, including health crises, immigration, and identity exploration. Andrea is a queer Dominican immigrant devoted to collective liberation and community care. Spanish is their first language, and they have experience working in multilingual therapeutic environments. Andrea obtained BAs in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Environmental Studies from Brown University.
Andrea is committed to cultivating highly individualized, collaborative therapeutic relationships and working through a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens. They strive to be a co-conspirator and support clients as they make meaning of their lives, navigate change, understand their patterns, hold themselves with more care and curiosity, and find a greater sense of fulfillment.
