Ariel Palmer-Collins

MSW Intern

Ariel Palmer-Collins is a clinical social work graduate trainee pursuing her MSW at Columbia University, where she concentrates in Advanced Clinical Practice with Children, Youth, and Families. Prior to pursuing training in psychotherapy, Ariel worked in publishing and has a longstanding background tutoring children, adolescents, and young adults. She previously worked with children and families at ABC Preventive Services in East Harlem.

Ariel currently works with children, adolescents, and adults at Rose Hill. She has particular interests in anxiety, depression, identity, self-esteem, grief, the unique experiences of women and girls, and the inner worlds of children and adolescents. Ariel received her B.A. in English with a minor in Medieval Studies from UC Berkeley; her background in literature and storytelling informs her interest in imagination, meaning-making, and the stories we tell about ourselves. She approaches therapy as a collaborative exploration, leaving room for unexpected paths toward new understanding.
