Eleanor Buse, LMSW

Eleanor Buse, LMSW, is a psychotherapist and psychoanalytic candidate at the Contemporary Freudian Society. She works with teens, adults, and couples at Rose Hill and her specialties include anxiety, depression, and trauma-focused treatment. Through the psychodynamic process, Eleanor explores shame, moral complexity, and the sense that individuals are undeserving of help with a range of patients, including high-performing professionals, persons exploring gender, identify, and sexuality, and couples untangling the patterns that both bind and divide them. Her approach is warm and unafraid of difficulty and she moves with clients between past and present to understand what lies beneath symptoms.
Eleanor holds a Master of Social Work from Hunter College's Silberman School of Social Work, has completed advanced training in sex therapy and couples therapy, and previously worked as a psychotherapist and intake therapist for the Adult and Trauma divisions of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. Her prior experience working in legal services as well as her current work as a therapist in the counseling service of The Juilliard School shaped her interest in working with patients who feel hardest to reach and individuals navigating the pressures of demanding careers.
