Eliza Gislason, MSW

Psychotherapist

Eliza is a psychodynamic therapist at Rose Hill. She works with adolescents, adults, and couples navigating interpersonal conflict, questions of identity and desire, and the legacies of loss and traumatic experience. She has experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence, and her practice thoughtfully blends trauma-focused and psychoanalytic approaches. She is attuned to the intergenerational impacts of race, class, and gender oppression and holds a deep respect for the inner knowing that each individual brings to the healing process.

Through skillful attention and compassionate presence, Eliza offers her clients a space to retrieve parts of themselves that may be hidden or difficult to name. She strives to build a trusting relationship where they can explore their early experiences, patterns, and symptoms in new ways, unearthing the often unconscious roots of psychic pain. She believes that with sustained vulnerability and commitment, the process of therapy can free up space for greater choice, self-trust, joy, and engagement in life.

Eliza received her master’s degree from Smith College School for Social Work and studied English and World Literature as an undergraduate. She brings creativity and play to her work as a therapist and invites these sides of her clients into the room as well.
