Emily Malinowski
MSW Intern
Emily Malinowski is a clinical social work graduate trainee pursuing her MSW degree at Smith College School for Social Work. She currently works with adults, adolescents, and children at Rose Hill. In her practice, she is guided by the belief that whatever is unspoken finds its way to expression through symptoms and relational dynamics. Together through the psychotherapeutic relationship, we locate unspoken roots of suffering and learn to engage with symptoms in ways that are new and creative, ultimately allowing for a deeper experience of life. Emily offers a nonjudgemental, collaborative space for this to happen.
Her background in anthropology, film, and performance inform her perspective that there are many different ways to speak. Using a psychoanalytically informed approach, Emily works with people experiencing shame, depression, anxiety, feelings of meaninglessness, and creative or general inhibition. She is particularly interested in working with children of immigrants and mothers.
