Jacob Mazzarella, MSW
Psychotherapist
Jacob is a psychotherapist in psychoanalytic training at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR). He earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Smith College and holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and English from Columbia University and the Paris Institute of Politics (Sciences Po). At Rose Hill Psychological Services, Jacob works with adults and adolescents.
He has completed extensive training in psychodynamic therapy through clinical internships across New York City, including work with adolescents, pre-teens, and adults. Jacob has a particular interest in relational psychodynamic approaches that help people navigate anxiety, major life transitions, and family dynamics. He views therapy as a space for curiosity and discovery—a place to explore desires, conflicts, and feelings in all their complexity. His aim is to create a therapeutic environment that is exploratory and healing, where questions can be asked without fear of judgment.
