Kristian Georgiev, MD

Kristian Georgiev is currently in his fourth year of psychiatry residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He received his M.D. from the Alpert Medcal School of Brown University, and his B.A. from Vassar College, concentrating in philosophy and the mind sciences. 

Kristian has treated patients from a variety of walks of life, including adults, adolescents, and children, in community mental health settings, as well as inpatient and outpatient hospital-based settings. He believes in the importance of a healing relationship in helping people understand their struggles and live life with greater wisdom, flexibility, and integrity. He is committed to providing compassionate, person-centered care within a psychodynamic framework, recognizing the ways that that our intersectional identities shape our lives and experiences. His academic and clinical interests include cross-cultural issues and immigration, attachment and relationship difficulties, trauma, and life transitions.
