Leah Volman-Schwebel
MSW Intern
Leah is a clinical social work graduate trainee pursuing her degree at the Silberman School of Social Work. Prior to pursuing training in psychotherapy, Leah worked in the DOE as a mental health counselor and has received extensive training in somatic workshops where she practiced connecting unconscious patterns to the physical body and exploring her own emotional patterns alongside others. In addition to her background in somatic therapy, Leah has particular interest in the emotions that play out in our everyday lives and prevent us from living our lives to their fullest extent.
Leah currently works with adolescents, adults, and couples at Rose Hill. She has an extensive background in working with depression, anxiety, life transitions, sexual identity, mindfulness, and body work. Leah obtained a Bachelor’s in Sociology and Religion at Hunter College, where she initially sparked an interest in how faith affects our social lives. Leah’s approach to therapy incorporates psychodynamic and somatic techniques, supporting her clients in not only understanding their emotions, but also exploring how and where they sit in their physical bodies.
