Lorena Gesuale

MSW Intern

Lorena (she/her) is a clinical social work graduate trainee pursuing a Master’s degree at Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work. She currently works with adults, adolescents, and couples at Rose Hill and supports clients through various life challenges including experiences with depression, anxiety, grief, disordered eating, identity exploration, emotional regulation, life transitions, intergenerational trauma, first- and second-generation immigration experiences, and relationship difficulties with self and others.

Using a psychodynamic lens, Lorena aims to support your exploration in how your past may influence present-day behaviors, thought patterns, and relationship dynamics. She believes that self-awareness fosters self-acceptance and lasting change. As a certified yoga teacher, Lorena is also drawn to psychosomatic therapies, including how emotional states manifest physically, and to yin practices that encourage slowing down and turning inward.

Lorena views therapy as a space to connect with your authentic self, explore your emotional experiences, and understand unconscious drives shaping your life. She believes that emotions, even when hard to bear, can serve as inner compasses, guiding us toward deeper truths about our experiences, identity, and needs. Her tone is gentle yet direct, and she welcomes humor in the therapeutic space.
