Madison West, LMSW

Psychotherapist

Madison is a psychotherapist at Rose Hill Psychological Services where they provide psychodynamic therapy to adults navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, work stressors, grief, identity questions, and relationship challenges. Their practice is rooted in anti-racist and LGBTQ+ affirmative mental health care. Madison creates space to notice whatever may emerge, working from the understanding that people often develop ways of surviving that bring both relief and suffering, patterns that can span generations. Through exploring what drives these automatic responses, new ways of being become possible, with humor and compassion along the way.

Madison recognizes how environment, politics, culture, and social structures shape our sense of self. They bring particular attention to how systemic forces impact the internal lives of those navigating marginalized identities, and how these dynamics surface in the therapeutic relationship.

Madison is a Licensed Master of Social Work, having received their degree from Hunter College. They are an Adjunct Lecturer at the Silberman School of Social Work, teaching courses in psychodynamic and clinical theory and harm reduction in substance use treatment. In addition to English, Madison is conversational in Spanish and American Sign Language (ASL). Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, they worked in academic administration, book publishing, and advertising.
