Max Feliu, MSW-I

Clinical Social Work Intern

Max is a clinical social work graduate trainee pursuing his degree at Smith College School for Social Work. Prior to pursuing training in psychotherapy, Max worked in a variety of fields, including teaching, politics and tech. Max currently works with adults, couples, and children at Rose Hill. Max has particular experience in issues related to sexual assault, identity issues regarding ethnicity, cultural background and gender, relationship issues, life transitions, and anxiety. Max is fully fluent in Spanish, it being his first language. Max obtained a double major in Philosophy and History of Science and Mathematics from St. John’s College, in Annapolis, MD. Max’s approach is psychodynamic, emphasizing the way in which the past is embedded in our present, often in small actions and reactions which we do not notice in the present moment. Max, in cooperation with his clients, aims to examine the origins of these emotional and affective habits, as well as the conscious beliefs connected to them, with the ultimate goal of achieving change that will lead to a more fulfilling life.
