Melissa Branfman
MSW Intern
Melissa is a graduate trainee in clinical social work, pursuing a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. Prior to pursuing training in psychotherapy, Melissa served as the Director of the Wyckoff House Museum and Farm in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.
Melissa currently works with adults, couples, and adolescents at Rose Hill. She is particularly interested in working with people who have experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, chronic pain, relationship challenges, and/or compulsive behaviors. Melissa speaks English and conversational Spanish. She obtained a BA in Art History from Columbia University.
With a warm and nonjudgemental approach rooted in psychodynamic theory, Melissa invites clients to cultivate curiosity about the patterns, desires, and relational dynamics that can keep them stuck. By doing so, clients may uncover a more compassionate self-understanding, and make new space for agency, joy, hope, and meaningful change.
