Yooha Park, MD

Psychiatry Resident

Yooha Park is a psychiatry resident in her final year of training at Montefiore Medical Center. Her clinical practice is rooted in a psychodynamic approach, with a particular focus on attachment-based therapy. She believes that understanding early relational patterns is necessary to unlocking how we relate to ourselves and others in the present, and she is dedicated to helping patients deepen their self-understanding.

She is especially passionate about working with emerging adults and individuals navigating significant identity and life transitions. An avid reader and writer, she has always been drawn to the power of narrative; this deep-seated interest in human storytelling informs her clinical work allowing her to listen closely to the unique, complex narratives that each patient brings to the room. She views understanding each patient’s narrative as integral for growth and the foundation for creating a collaborative, safe environment to explore the internal conflicts that often surface during periods of change.

Prior to her medical training, she graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a degree in sociology. After graduating, she served for two years with Teach for America in Atlanta, where she taught kindergarten—an experience that furthered her interest in the foundational nature of early development. She completed her medical degree at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Her commitment to patient-centered care has extended to her work in systems improvement and leadership, where she has advocated for more integrated and accessible mental health care.
