Eli Nadeau, LMSW
Psychotherapist
Eli is a psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapist, addiction counselor, and activist. They began their practice working with dual-diagnosis adults; and trained in a DBT clinic and residential and outpatient treatment centers in St. Paul, Minnesota before returning to New York City to continue that work.
The practice of psychoanalysis is, for Eli, deeply bound up with the matter of freedom. How do you go about understanding the constellation of experience and relationships that make up your life? What binds you, compels you, shuts you down, sets you on fire? You might choose to speak about your fantasies, your dreams, your symptoms, your burdens, your grief. You might not choose to speak right away. There’s space for you here, and time.
Eli works with adolescents, adults and elders who experience the world in various ways; neurodiverse and neurotypical. They welcome those whose lives are marked by divergence from norms, and those for whom norms have been ordering and helpful. Eli has a Master of Social Work from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and Master of Philosophy in Politics, both from the New School.
